The intricacies of royal relationships have once again come under scrutiny as the rift between Prince Harry/Meghan Markle and Prince William/Kate Middleton, persists. Despite attempts at reconciliation, the specter of estrangement looms large, with royal expert Tom Quinn shedding light on the ongoing saga, reports Marca, Spain’s national daily sport newspaper.
Quinn suggests that while efforts have been made from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge‘s side to extend an olive branch, Meghan Markle’s purported grievances on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s side are proving to be a stumbling block.
In an interview with Britain’s The Mirror, Quinn remarked on the challenge faced by Prince William and Kate Middleton in their bid to mend fences—particularly in light of Kate’s recent illness, which traditionally tends to bring families together.
Quinn also revealed recent attempts by William and Kate to bridge the gap—including a suggestion to bring together both families and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, for a visit to the UK. However, Meghan’s reported reluctance to entertain the idea has hindered progress.
The strained relations stem from a series of public disagreements, including the Sussexes’ revelations in their Netflix docuseries and their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, further exacerbated tensions, with detailed accounts of heated exchanges and accusations against his brother and sister-in-law.
